Tony got himself a new one!

Tony Parker got himself a beauty queen.

The SA Spurs guard is now seeing 20-year-old Barbara Morel, the winner of France’s 2010 Miss Nationale pageant. Parker divorced his wife, “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria, in November after a three-year marriage.

Morel was the winner of the inaugural Miss Nationale pageant last December. The competition was created to challenge the more-established Miss France pageant, a French equivalent of Miss America.

Parker told Adam Melzer in his interview last month that he thought the Spurs’ title chances were over.  He later backed off those comments when they created a firestorm in America. Before last week’s draft, Parker was the subject of trade rumors but remains with the team that drafted him in 2001. The 29-year-old begins a new four-year, $50 million contract this season.  Not bad, if you ask me.

Remember Hill?

Thirteen years ago, Grant Hill was one of the NBA’s big stars with a rèsumè already decorated with four All-Star appearances and an All-NBA first team selection. At just 26 years old, this Detroit forward was in the prime of his career.

And then the NBA entered a lockout that delayed the start of the 1998-99 season by more than three months.

After the season was shortened from 82 to 50 games, Hill lost a big chunk of the $6.6 million he was scheduled to make that season.  With the NBA now on the verge of entering another lockout – the current collective bargaining agreement expires Thursday – Hill has no regrets about the players’ last extended labor battle.

What’s Up with Nate?

UFC president Dana White will not back down.

One day after publicly releasing Nate Marquardt from his UFC contract following his failure to earn medical clearance from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission, White came on Versus’ “UFC on Versus 4 Pre-Fight Show” to make his first public comment about the move.

While he shed little light on the subject, White argued that his decision was both fair and final. As for the details of what went on behind the scenes, White in his discussion with Adam Melzer said that will remain up to Marquardt to reveal.

“The thing that’s going on with Nate Marquardt, Pennsylvania laws are unfortunate in that the commission can’t come out and announce medical records or medical situations with fighters,” White said. “But I think it’s pretty clear to the fans and everybody else that I’m pretty disgusted with Nate Marqaurdt. He’s been cut from the UFC. He won’t fight in the UFC ever again.

When pressed by Adam Melzer as to whether past criticisms of Marquardt may have factored into his decision, White insisted that was not the case.
